Today is Chelsea's Sweet 16 Birthday. She has been asking for a car for a few months now. And we haven't been telling her squat. Last week she flat out asked if we were getting her a car. I lied.....
I told her that if we got her a car, we wouldn't be able to afford to do much of a Christmas. Little did she know that sitting at Grandpa JC's car lot was her very own first car.
All week long we have been making secret phone calls getting things taken care of on the car. Gifts pertaining to the car have been hiding in the closet for nearly a month now. Gifts to put in the car have also been hiding in the closet.
Chelsea asked what colour was the most expensive thing we got her was. I said "Orange". I did get her something orange, an OSU pajama set.
Yesterday, we talked to Chelsea's best friend, Sadie, to have her ride the bus home with Chelsea as we were going to take them out to supper tonight. Before the bus rounded the corner, I called Sadie and told her to cover Chelsea's eyes. Sadie still had Chelsea's eyes closed as they were getting off the bus.
I'm surprised no one on the bus let the secret out; they all screamed.
Not near as loud as one totally surprised 16 year old teenager who got off the school bus to see this:
Yeah, Yeah......... I'm BAAAAAD!
